Previous and current business support
Duncan Bannatyne OBE D.Sc. the highly successful entrepreneur and founder of Bannatyne’s Health Clubs and star of the BBC’s Dragon’s Den has been a loyal supporter of SIR & Mary’s Meals over the years. His generosity built two family-style homes for abandoned children - one in Romania and one in Colombia. He visited Malawi in 2006 to see Mary’s Meals in action.
During this visit to Malawi Duncan rolled up his sleeves and joined the volunteers serving Mary’s Meals at an Under 5 Centre on the outskirts of Blantytre. Duncan was so impressed with what he saw that on his return he donated £100 000 towards the work. "I have traveled to Malawi and I have seen Mary’s Meals in situ. It’s a fantastic and effective organization, which has definitely got the capacity to run projects of size and scale.”
