The Change Challenge is a very simple idea, to collect loose change for Mary’s Meals. It really cost very little to feed a child for a year with Mary’s Meals, so you don’t need to worry about going to great expense to make a difference. Just by collecting 1ps, 2ps and 5ps, you will soon have enough to feed someone for a whole year!

Why not ask local shops, your school canteen or tuck shop if they will put a collecting bottle at the till, and see how quickly it fills up. Or take one home with you, and everytime you have some coppers put it in your Change Challenge pot. Alternatively why not try making your own collecting bank out of an old drinks bottle?

HOW TO MAKE YOUR WATER BOTTLE MONEY BANK
Get an old water bottle – a 330ml capacity one is good. Make sure it is empty, clean and dry.


Getting an adult to help you, cut a slit in the top of the bottle Then, stick some sticky tape along the edges of plastic that you have cut, so as to protect yourself from sharp edges. You are now ready to decorate your bottle in whichever way you like!
