Mary’s Meals Wales is officially launched

Mary’s Meals Wales is regional support group of volunteers who are dedicated to raising awareness, generating funds and collecting backpacks for Mary’s Meals projects. It was officially launched in the National Assembly for Wales in May 2008 by Rosemary Butler AM, Deputy Presiding Officer. Speaking about the launch, Rosemary Butler said, “I am very pleased that Wales is joining other countries in supporting this very worthwhile cause.
We in Wales are very fortunate and it is a measure of the country’s maturity that global organisations such as Mary’s Meals are being established here.” Over 100 supporters and guests were welcomed to the Senedd by Geoff Edge, Mary’s Meals Wales volunteer organiser, and the founder of Mary’s Meals, Magnus MacFarlane Barrow, also spoke at the event.
