Director of People

Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and we are focused on one goal – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. We continue to change the lives of over 1.4 million children who today will receive a Mary’s Meals.

As an organisation, named after Mary the mother of Jesus and shaped by Christian spirituality, we feel that the way we do things is as important as the end results. To support our mission and ensure everyone reaches their potential, we are now looking to recruit into the critical role of Director of People. With responsibility for all Human Resources and Organisation Development activity, key priorities of the role include:

  • Leading and developing high performing HR teams, both in Glasgow and globally through a matrix management structure
  • Developing and embedding HR best practice across the Global Mary’s Meals’ movement
  • Leading, continuously evolving and driving the implementation of the global people strategy to support future growth
  • Inspiring, motivating and celebrating people who volunteer with Mary’s Meals, recognising the critical part they play in enabling the Mary’s Meals mission.

With both operational and strategic HR exposure and relevant experience leading a proactive, responsive and high performing HR function, the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Involvement in the development of an effective People strategy
  • Experience of successfully driving organisational change
  • The ability to develop strategies and policies and translate into operational actions
  • Successful partnership working and the ability to effectively engage with and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A strong commitment to our values, vision and mission.
