We offer so much more than a role, you will have the opportunity to support our global movement in a dynamic and inclusive environment with a real focus on personal development and flexible working.

We are recruiting for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join our IT team here in Glasgow. We foster a cloud first approach and are looking for an IT support professional who brings strong experience of IT support, mobile device management, infrastructure management and a user focussed approach to problem solving.

Reporting to our IT Infrastructure Lead and working as part of a small global infrastructure team, alongside day to day desktop support activities you will have responsibility for the development, operation and optimisation of nominated services and will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and apprentices.

Key activities include:

  • Infrastructure management – device builds, deployments, upgrades and troubleshooting;
  • Customer support – managing global support tickets, managing stakeholder relationships,  managing user accounts and access;
  • Managing delivery roadmaps for agreed infrastructure product lines and managing associated service improvement activities;
  • Planning and monitoring technical projects to implement infrastructure and process improvements to contribute to departmental strategic objectives; and
  • Participation in the service desk rota and occasional out of hours scheduled work.

Robust experience of deploying and managing Windows 10 and mobile devices within an enterprise environment is a key requirement and you will also bring detailed knowledge of Windows server and IaaS or PaaS Microsoft technologies. As an organisation, we are focussed on effectively harnessing technologies, developing efficiencies and process automations that will help facilitate the growth of our movement and allow us to reach the next child waiting for Mary’s Meals.

With a positive approach to teamwork, proactive communications and problem solving, we would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience of:

  • Designing, configuring, managing and troubleshooting infrastructure solutions on Azure or equivalent (using tools like Intune, SCCM and Cloud Orchestration software);
  • Scripting for administration and automation (e.g Powershell/Azure API, Jenkins);
  • Introducing infrastructure / web application monitoring tools and connecting these with automated response playbooks and ITSM tools (e.g. PagerDuty, MS Flow, JIRA Service Desk);
  • Configuring, integrating and optimising VoIP solutions with Collaboration tools (like MS Teams);
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills; and
  • Experience of managing technical projects, including resource management and reporting.
