From an exclusive preview of our new film to turning pennies into pounds, these are some of our highlights from Mladifest 2019!

We’ve just returned from Mladifest 2019, the 30th annual youth festival in Medjugorje.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share the story of Mary’s Meals with thousands of people from all over the world. We spoke to people from Scotland to Slovakia, Poland to Portugal and Austria to America and told them about Mary’s Meals’ simple solution to world hunger – feeding children in their place of education. We are excited about welcoming so many new faces to the Mary’s Meals global family! Here are some of our highlights:

1. Film coming soon...

One of our favourite moments from the festival was sharing an exclusive sneak peak of our brand new film, featuring Scottish actor and Hollywood star Gerard Butler!

We’ve been working with Stella Mar Films on the documentary which focuses on Gerard’s visits to see Mary’s Meals in action in Haiti and Liberia. The final film is still in production, however we screened a twenty minute preview and the response was superb! Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!

2. Magnificent Marcelina!

Hearing from Mary’s Meals supporter Marcelina, who learned about Mary’s Meals from Jimmy at Mladifest a few years ago. She’s been busy fundraising and spreading the word about Mary’s Meals across Poland ever since!

3. Love reaches everywhere!

Meeting lots of new people at our Information Centre in the heart of Medjugorje and learning about all the different ways people come to join the Mary’s Meals family. Like these students from Romania helping us demonstrate that love really does reach everywhere!

4. Mary's Meals: a global family

Bringing together so many Mary’s Meals volunteers from across the world, in one place at the same time! There was lots to celebrate as everyone had just learned that Mary’s Meals is now reaching 1.5 million children with school meals! We heard stories about all the different ways people are supporting and fundraising for Mary’s Meals in their home countries, like the nuns from Wales who have collected thousands of pounds in our five pence collection boxes!
