Our Feed a School initiative enables you to sign up to provide nutritious, life-changing school meals to some of the world’s poorest children for an entire year.
When you pledge to cover the cost of daily meals for every child at a chosen school, you are positively impacting the lives of hundreds of vulnerable children – giving them the energy to participate in lessons and the opportunity to receive an education.
Whether you want to fundraise together with a group of people or would like to donate as an individual, Feed a School is an impactful way to give hope of a brighter future to some of the world’s poorest children.
The promise of nutritious daily school meals allows the children to grow and prosper, helps their families to survive and thrive, and acts as a catalyst for the communities they live in to break the cycle of poverty.
At the end of your 12-month fundraising journey, you will receive a personalised update, featuring children from your chosen school, as well as teachers and volunteers involved in the school feeding programme.

We have been delivering school feeding programmes since 2002, and we continuously develop and refine our approach to reach as many children as possible in the most efficient, effective and sustainable way.

Your Experience with the Feed a School initiative
We welcome the commitment from you if you decide to Feed a School and will support you, answer any questions, and offer advice.
Throughout the year we will provide regular updates from the feeding programme and encouraging feedback on your project, including fundraising tips to help you to reach your target and provide food for an entire school for a year.
At the end of the year, you will receive an update on your project success with photos and quotes from the project.
Now you have your project through its first year we will make sure you have the first option to feed the school in subsequent years; we look forward to having a long-term partnership with you and reaching the next child.
Let’s us share our vision with you that every child receives one daily meal in their place of education, and that all those who have more than they need share with those who lack even the most basic things.
Countries where you can Feed a School
Malawi
Malawi is our largest programme – serving more than 1,315,000 children every school day – and is delivered by Mary’s Meals Malawi alongside our partners MCSPA and Tafika. Malawi is where our school feeding programme began, and where our first meals were served in 2003, it is central to the Mary’s Meals story.
Zambia
We currently provide school meals to more than 605,000 children in over 1,250 schools in the Eastern Province of the country – delivered by Mary’s Meals Zambia. The programme is able to reach so many children because of tens of thousands of volunteers from local communities who give their time freely to prepare and serve our nutritious meals.

Registering for Feed a School can be completed online via our website or by contacting your local Mary’s Meals office. If you would like to speak to someone to discuss signing up for a Feed a School project, please fill out the Contact Us form link in the website footer.
No, the fundraising target is fixed for the 12-month period.
If you choose to unsubscribe from regular Mary’s Meals communications during your project, you’ll still receive project-related information. These emails are generated separately with the aim of keeping you informed throughout the year as you support your chosen school.
Excess funds will not carry over into the next year of fundraising (if you decide to renew). Instead, they’ll support general school feeding in the country your chosen school is located in
Online donations can be made via the relevant Feed a School project page on your local Mary’s Meals website. Please note donations made through the MMI website are only accepted in GBP (£).
If you decide to keep your recurring donations, they will be allocated to general school feeding in the country where the school you previously fundraised for is located.
